🕐 Auto-time decides whether a new task gets a reminder time automatically.
• Checked (on): every task you add is pre-set to remind you a few minutes from now — so nothing slips by unscheduled.
• Unchecked (off): tasks are added with no time and just wait quietly in your list until you give them one.
Want it to schedule further out? Change how far ahead in ⚙ Settings → General → “Auto-time default.”

Notifications & Reminders
Pre-task email reminders and phone-alert quiet hours. Saved to the backend so all devices share these.
Both fire before the appointment. Set both to the same value to fire only once.
Pushover (loud appointment alerts)
⚠ Pushover alerts disabled — credentials missing. Enter your User Key + App Token below.
Recipients
Route a task's Pushover alerts to another person. Self uses your keys above. Add others with their own Pushover user key; leave App Token blank to reuse yours.
Default alarms
Turn the automatic alarm on or off for these task types. Off = no automatic alarm for them (you can still alarm an individual task from its Advanced menu).
Alarm sound
Custom alarm song (plays on this computer when the app is open)
Paste a direct link to an audio file (ending in .mp3, .ogg, or .wav). When an alarm goes off while this app is open, it plays your song instead of the built-in chime. It can’t play on a locked phone — that uses the Phone alarm sound above. Leave blank to use the built-in chime.
How to get a link: upload your song to a free host (Dropbox or Google Drive → Share → a direct link), or any page that gives a link ending in .mp3. YouTube and Spotify links won’t work.
Alarms
Up to 10 loud alarms. Each re-sounds every 30s for up to 1 hour until you tap Acknowledge in Pushover. Set Repeat per alarm — Once (a single date), Daily, Weekdays, Weekends, or Custom days. Fire times use your Time zone (General tab). Requires Pushover (Reminders & Alerts). These ring even during Quiet Hours.
Instantly rings your phone with the loud emergency siren — re-rings every 30s for up to 2 hours until you tap Acknowledge in Pushover. Use it to find a misplaced phone, or to test that your alarms actually sound.
🔔 Not hearing your alarm? Click for help
Rings your phone with the real emergency siren right now. If it doesn't sound, work through the steps below.
Most "no alarm" problems are in Pushover's setup. Work through these:
Is Pushover on here?Reminders & Alerts → Pushover: turn it on, paste your User Key, then tap 📱 Test push. If the test doesn't buzz your phone, the issue is your Pushover setup (steps below) — not the alarm.
Finished Pushover on your phone? Install the Pushover app, sign in, and complete the one-time $4.99 purchase (after the free trial it stops delivering until you buy it). Use the same account whose User Key you pasted here.
Phone notifications allowed? Phone Settings → Notifications → Pushover → Allow Notifications ON, with Sounds on and Lock Screen/Banners on.
On silent / Focus / Do Not Disturb? In the Pushover app pick a loud notification sound and turn your ringer up. If you use a Focus/DND, add Pushover to its Allowed Apps so its alerts come through.
Right time? Check your Time zone (General tab) and the alarm's time. Each alarm shows "↻ Repeats … · next …" — make sure "next" is when you expect it.
Only buzzed once? Alarms are emergency alerts — they re-ring every 30s for up to an hour until you tap Acknowledge in the Pushover notification. If it stopped after one buzz, it was acknowledged/dismissed; open Pushover to check.
Master switch on? On the Digest tab, "Enable email notifications" must be ON — it also gates alarms.
Still stuck? Tap 📱 Test push and note whether it arrived — that pinpoints whether it's Pushover or the alarm.

Subtasks
All done — mark task complete?
By default, checking subtasks just tracks progress (the “3/5” badge) — you complete the task yourself with its checkmark. Completing it moves it to the Completed list (kept ~1 year); it isn’t permanently deleted.
With Auto-complete on, checking the last subtask finishes the task for you. If the task recurs, it rolls to the next occurrence instead of leaving — and if “Reset subtasks each time it recurs” is on, the list comes back fresh next time.
